GMR APL 2025: Team Performance Recap

The GMR Andhra Premier League (APL) 2025, the fourth edition of the premier franchise T20 tournament in Andhra Pradesh, was a rousing success after seven teams battled across 25 matches in 16 days for the ultimate glory at the ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Tungabhadra Warriors became the champions of the GMR APL 2025 after defeating Capital Amaravathi Royals in the final by five wickets on Saturday, August 23.

All the seven teams and their players left it all on the line in the field to secure the prestigious GMR APL trophy, but only one team managed to get their hands on it, and it was none other than Tungabhadra Warriors, led by K Maheep Kumar. After losing twice to Capital Amaravathi Royals - captained by Hanuma Vihari - in the league stage and the Qualifier 1, the pressure was on Tungabhadra Warriors to learn from their past mistakes, and they did just that by convincingly getting the better of their nemesis in the final.

Bhimavaram Bulls managed to defeat Vijayawada Sun Shiners in the Eliminator of the GMR APL 2025, but they weren’t able to proceed through to the final despite being so close to it. Kakinada Kings, Simadri Vizag Lions, and Royals of Rayalaseema lost four matches each in the league stage of the tournament before getting separated on the points table on the basis of the net run rate (NRR)

Below is the stats based recap of the teams and their performances in the fourth edition of the GMR APL, including the playoffs and the final.
