The much-anticipated fourth edition of GMR Andhra Premier League (APL) concluded on Saturday, August 23 at the ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. The 14-day tournament culminated with Tungabhadra Warriors coming out victorious, beating the Hanuma Vihari-led Capital Amaravathi Royals by five wickets in the summit clash.
Coming into the playoffs after a second-place finish in the league stage, Tungabhadra Warriors’ Gutta Rohit and CR Gnaneshwar played match-winning knocks of 63 off 28 balls and 45-ball 66 respectively to guide the side finish over the line with two overs to spare. As the season concluded, it not only got a new title winner, but also saw several players stand out during the course of 14 days, especially from the top four teams in this edition.
